Ecovyst has undergone a transformative journey, evolving from Catalyst Technologies to Advanced Materials & Catalysts (AMAC), a name that more accurately embodies the business’s extensive expertise, rich heritage, and future aspirations. The core competencies are deeply rooted in R&D, with exceptional skills in modifying a variety of properties in Silica and Zeolite materials.
Our legacy spans over four decades of collaborative efforts with Shell in the development and launch of Hydrocracking catalysts, along with a global experience exceeding 40 years in the manufacture of Chrome on Silica catalysts for Polyethylene production. Our manufacturing assets are strategically located in the USA and EU, supplemented by a global network of tollers and contract manufacturers.
By developing and commercializing catalysts and supports that facilitate catalyzed reactions, AMAC creates significant value for its customers. The name change to Advanced Materials & Catalysts marks a pivotal point in our journey, reflecting a commitment to innovation, excellence, and a broader spectrum of capabilities in the realm of advanced materials and catalysis.
We’re focused on two important, long-term secular trends: The clean-energy transition and the circular economy for plastics. As both of these trends continue to accelerate, Ecovyst and Catalyst Technologies will continue to innovate with customers to improve the performance of the products they make. We enable our customers to meet the increasing and evolving requirements of the industries they serve.
Advanced Materials & Catalysts Products and Services

AlphaPol™ Polyolefin Catalysis
Ecovyst is a key global supplier of chrome-on-silica catalysts, modified chrome catalysts, Ziegler-Natta Catalysts and single catalyst supports, widely used in the polymerization of ethylene into polyethylene.

AlphaCat® Chemical Catalysis
Ecovyst silica-based supports and catalysts are widely used in the manufacture of process intermediates & fine chemicals, elastomers & polymers, syngas products, environmental controls and renewable materials.

AlphaSelect® Functionalized Silicas
Ecovyst has developed a unique range of Advanced Ion Exchange (AIX) materials based on functionalized silicas that enable mining operations, metal processors & waste treatment companies to significantly improve their overall sustainability, value recovery, product purity and overall environmental footprint.

AlphaBloc™ Anti-Blocking Silicas
Incorporation of small quantities of a AlphaBloc™ Anti-Blocking Silica into a film formulation creates micro-roughness at the surface of the film. This reduces or eliminates blocking without compromising the balance of physical and optical properties of the film.
Zeolyst International – A Winning Partnership
